The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health works to elevate the priority of children’s well-being and improve the health of both children and expectant mothers. They achieve this through leadership, direct investment, and increasing the availability of quality health care. The Foundation is a wholly independent nonprofit that works in alignment with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and the child health programs at Stanford University School of Medicine.
The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health required a redesign for a giving website that would encourage users to take action. The old site failed to engage visitors and overwhelmed them with complicated donation options, instructions, and features. They wanted a modern look that would inspire confidence in their work and inspire visitors to donate and get involved. Project6 was also tasked with maintaining visual consistency with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford's website in both branding and palette, while achieving a fresh look, and rewrapping dozens of donation pages—on a separate, secure system—to work seamlessly with the new design.
Project6 simplified and layered site messaging to help users quickly understand the Foundation’s goals, read more, or take action. The navigation was restructured to simplify users’ choices and help them make decisions faster. All feature stories—about patients, parents, doctors, donors, events, and news—were consolidated into a dynamic blog format for an enticing read and easy maintenance by Foundation web administrators. Convio pages were grouped to simplify their integration with the new design. The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Medicine logos have a presence on every page.
The new, responsive site both inspires donors and compels them to act. It conveys the credibility and prestige of the hospital and School of Medicine, allows users to take action quickly and easily on desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms, and gives them a seamless experience across both Drupal and Convio. The new Drupal content management system offers the Lucile Packard Foundation the flexibility to easily manage their content and feature engaging seasonal updates. The clean new layout, upgraded CMS, and refined donation pages result in a positive user experience for donors and the broader community.
